Family Services
- First day of Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur, 3:00 p.m.
We will have a community-wide afternoon service for children and families on both the first day of Rosh Hashanah and on Yom Kippur at 3:00p.m. While these services are geared for children from pre-school through 4th grade, all are welcome. No tickets or registration required.
Children, grades K-3
- First day of Rosh Hashanah, 10:30 a.m.
Religious services geared for children grades K-3 will be offered from 10:30 a.m.-noon (approximately) on the first day of Rosh Hashanah. - Yom Kippur, 10:30 a.m.
Religious services for children grades K-3 are held from 10:30 a.m.-noon (approximately).
JRC students, ages 8 and up
- First day of Rosh Hashanah, 10:30 a.m.
North Shore Hotel Service – JRC students ages 8 and up are encouraged to help lead services with the guidance of Stan Cohn at the North Shore Hotel, a retirement residence around the corner from JRC’s High Holiday services. The one-hour service will begin at approximately 10:30 a.m. on the first day of Rosh Hashanah. Young people are invited to lead readings and songs for the service, and to blow the shofar. Parents and other interested adults are welcome to attend, and to participate as well.
JRC students, grades 4-6
- Yom Kippur, 10:30 a.m.
Students in grades 4-6 are invited to attend an age-appropriate Yom Kippur service led by Stan Cohn, with opportunities to participate in prayers, discussion, etc. Parents are invited to attend with their children. All children are expected to behave appropriately for a worship service. The service will be held at First United Methodist Church from 10:30 a.m.-11:30 a.m.
Teens, grades 7-12
- On the first day of Rosh Hashanah from 10:30-11:30 am, join your friends for “Improv with a Twist: A New Year for the New You.”
- Teens are also encouraged to attend services in the Sanctuary on Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur.
Attending Services. Children and teens may not roam unescorted through the building; parents must supervise children and teens who attend services with them. Young children must be escorted by an adult to enter/exit the building, as well as to go to/from the washrooms and services. Remember, we will be guests in someone else’s place of worship.
