A wide range of adult
learning programs are offered at JRC. Mini-courses, monthly classes,
workshops, retreats, and communal programs touch on a wide variety
of topics and interests.
At JRC,
Judaism is studied using the texts of tradition as well as the tools
of modernity--we seek both intellectual and spiritual engagement.
Studying
together and sharing insights and experiences is yet another way
in which JRC members come to know each other.
The Sunday
Book Group has been meeting for approximately 20 years, usually
on the second Sunday of the month at 10 am. Its members
draw on every constituency of the congregation, young and old, single
and married, men and women, literary types and mystery fiction readers.
There are no requirements for membership. Books are chosen based
on eclectic standards and include fiction, non-fiction, Israeli
and Jewish themes, authors or characters. The library will often
have several copies of the book selection and members will share
copies with others. Everyone is welcome.
