When you visit JRC’s Religious School, you will see students and teachers who are happy and engaged. Although we believe it's important that school be fun, we're serious about our responsiblity to partner with parents to cultivate the Jewish values that will serve our children throughout their lives, in their personal relationships and as global citizens. Like many congregations, we consider ourselves "a community of learners;" at JRC, the emphasis is on the word "community."
Jewish education is a lifelong pursuit involving the heart, the mind and the soul. The Religious School provides JRC children with the building blocks they need to engage throughout their lives in Jewish exploration, community and activism.
Staff and Schedule
We offer programs for students ages 3-18, from Sunday morning Jewish enrichment through a monthly high school program. We have a loyal and loving teaching staff, many of whom have been at JRC for more than ten years. Our two special educators are on site during school hours to work with students and to provide support to classroom teachers. Pre-K though 6th graders spend time with clergy at least once each week.
What's our schedule? Through second grade, students attend on Sundays only. Third grade through sixth, students attend an additional weekday session. Seventh and 8th grader classes meet Tuesday evenings, and they share in a community dinner before heading to class. Our high school program takes place one Saturday evening each month, with additional dates for fieldtrips.
