BYO Picnic (Elliot Park) & Erev Shabbat Beach Services

Friday, July 8

6 pm  -  BYO Picnic Dinner

This Friday's services are going to be extra special. It's our first beach service of the summer. It's all happening at Elliot Park (Dempster Street Beach).

Second, we've got special guests--25 BBYO members--coming to Saturday's Torah Study and Minyan.  They were searching for a unique Shabbat experience and found us. We are honored they chose JRC!

The group visiting JRC this weekend includes Jewish teens from across the country, plus two from Chicago, one from Canada, and another from China.

Give this group a warm JRC welcome. They'll remember the experience for many summers to come!

What to bring

Picnic baskets, blankets and lawn chairs.

Dairy/vegetarian meal.

Pack up your car and head to the beach area.

7pm - Erev Shabbat Service starts

After dinner, stay for our informal Erev Shabbat Services led by Cantor Friedland on the beautiful Evanston lakefront.

In case of rain

We always try hold out and go to the lakefront, but in case of rain, the whole operation - 6 pm picnic, 7 pm service - moves to the JRC Social Hall. So come rain or shine, be sure to join us!
