JRC's Annual Tu B'Shvat Seder

Learn about the Jewish relationship to the environment in a casual, all ages, interactive musical celebration of Tu B'Shvat (also known as the birthday for trees).

The evening includes a potluck dinner, so please bring a dairy/vegetarian main or side dish to share (desserts will be provided) Please note that nuts are an important part of the Tu B'Shvat seder plate, and will be on the dining tables.

This year's theme is Taking Action to Protect the Environment. Our guest speaker is State Senator Daniel Biss who will discuss the impact of Illinois's recent Future Energy Jobs Bill and future state and local environmental measures that are more necessary than ever given the national political landscape. Leaders from The Talking Farm, Openlands, Citizen's Greener Evanston and JRC's Gardeners will also be participating to educate on environmental action.

An activity for kids 5-11 year old will take place during the speaker's presentation.

Need-based scholarships available. Please contact the Green Team - it is our honor to make sure that everyone can participate.

Thanks to JRC's Green Team for organizing the evening!
