wmcjan-21-for-facebook-profile-rgb-72dpi_180x180.jpgThe JRC Board voted on January 11th to become a participating group of the  1/21 Women's March on Chicago. We encourage you to attend with your JRC family in this activism if it is within your Shabbat practice. While titled the "Women's March," all are welcome to attend.

JRC will meet on Saturday, January 21st on the west side of Buckingham Fountain, on Columbus Ave, at 9am to participate in the Women's March on Chicago. If you are taking the Red Line, get off at the Harrison stop and walk east on Harrison toward the lake. The march will be very crowded; arrive early and look for the JRC banner! We will head toward the march kickoff location at Jackson and Columbus between 9:30 and 9:45.  For up-to-the-minute updates on the date of the march, check the JRC Facebook page or the private Members of JRC Facebook page.

The march begins at Jackson and Columbus streets in Downtown Chicago at 10:00am with speakers until 11:00am. The walk begins at 11:00am and will end between 12:00-1:00pm back at the start for the wrap-up.The route will head west on Jackson, then north on Michigan, west on Adams, north on Dearborn, west on Randolph, south on Clark, and east on Jackson back to Grant Park. There will be a stopping point at Federal Plaza for those who do not wish to walk the entire route.

If you plan to attend, please email Becca Sperling at [email protected] and let her know whether you're going straight to the march or after you attend the JRC Community Shabbat service (which ends at 11:30am).

Before the march, join us for a sign-making party at JRC on Thursday, January 19th at 6:30pm.
