A meaningful High Holiday experience for just $18
“Chai Holiday” Tickets are back at JRC! We are offering $18 High Holiday tickets to Young Adults ages 35 and under, and college students (as always) are free.
Join us for Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur services that are accessible, modern, and egalitarian with a focus on spirituality, intellectual curiosity, and social justice.
Some of the special things we are doing during the High Holidays
Not only are our services $18 for people 35 and under, but that price gets you access to all of our High Holiday festivities, and there are a lot of them. Come to one or all of them, and meet other young people who are active at JRC.
Rosh Hashanah Lunch for Young Adults
September 10 at approx. 1:00pm
After services, we will walk over to a restaurant in downtown Evanston to eat lunch together. Please join us if your observance allows it - as folks will be paying for lunch a-la-carte.
4:30pm at Dawes Park, Evanston
For this beloved JRC tradition, we will gather at the lakefront and toss stale breadcrumbs into the water to represent our sins. Bring a few pieces of stale bread (but we will have extra if needed).
After the Yizkor/Ne’ilah service on Yom Kippur, JRC Young Adults are hosting a community-wide break-the-fast potluck! Please bring a vegetarian/dairy dish to share (no nuts please!). The meal will be held in the dining room at First United Methodist Church.
Cocktails in the Sukkah
Wednesday, September 26
Join Rabbi Weiss and JRC young adults in the sukkah for some fall harvest themed cocktails, small bites and conversation. Everyone is welcome to come to this free event. Please remember to wear warm layers as we will be outdoors. In case of inclement weather, we will gather in the Small Sanctuary.
New Young Adult Membership
If you feel at home in our community, we would love to have you join JRC. New this year, Young Adults (ages 35 and under) can become members for just $36 dollars a month. Find a spiritual home and supportive community for less than the cost of a gym membership!
