Israeli Film Night: Like a Bride
Join us for Israeli Film Night the first Wednesday (usually) of each month. Admission is free, and it's an entertaining way to learn about the diversity of modern Israeli culture and ideas.
This month's film: Novia Que Te Vea (Like a Bride)
This multi-award winning film features two friends, one Sephardic and the other Ashkenazi, coming of age in Mexico City in the 60s. This visually beautiful, sometimes humorous, film addresses many issues, including identity/Jewish identity, Zionism, feminism, and Latin American revolutionary politics. Filmed in Spanish and Ladino with English subtitles.
As a special treat this month, we'll include a few Mexican and Sephardic snacks with our refreshments!
