Please join us for a special photography exhibit culminating a wonderful year of experiential learning by the talented 8th graders of JRC's Gesher program. This show is made possible through our involvement with The Jewish Lens Project, which gives our students the opportunity to explore what Judaism means to them through photography.
In preparation of this year's theme, "Forever Told: Stories of Survival," our students interviewed and photographed survivors of genocide, several of whom will be attending the exhibit. Gesher students will be on hand to discuss their photos and impressions. Viewers of the photographs will be doubly moved - by the impact the project had on its young photographers, as well as the stories of the subjects, stories that no one should have in his or her body of experience.
Special thanks go to photojournalist (and JRC member) Rich Cahan, for his continued mentorship on this project, and to Liz London, JRC's Gesher teacher.
